40-year-old man shot dead by 3 youths over scuffle in Delhi

DCP, North east Atul Thakur said that a case of murder has been registered and three people have been detained in the connection of the incident. We are questing to them. Further investigation is underway.

A-40-year-old man was shot dead while a passerby received a bullet wound after four unidentified armed assailants opened fired over a petty scuffle in North-east Delhi’s welcome area late night on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Mehtabh (40) who resided with his family in Kavir Nagar of welcome areas. Meanwhile one Aaush (18) has received a bullet injury in his leg and is admitted into a private hospital.

Mehtabh’s brother Shaif told the police that around 5 PM on Sunday Mehtabh was seating outside his house with his friends.

During conversation, a dispute erupted between Mehtabh and his friend Mushir over a petty issue. Mehtabh’s family and local people intervened into the matter and resolved it but later three people knocked the door of Mehtabh and shot his dead at 10 PM,”

The victim family alleged that at around 10 pm, Mushir’s son along with three friends reached at Mehtabh house, called him outside where the accused started firing on him.  A bullet hit into his chest and he tried to save his life but he was chased and shot him on his back, resulting which he collapsed on the road in a pool of blood.

The family rushed Mehtabh to GTB hospital where he was deceased brought death. Police have handed over the body to victim family after autopsy on Monday.

Mehtabh was fruit vendor. He survived to his wife and two children.
