Central leadership in Bharatiya Janata Party has directed its all MPs from both the houses in the Parliament to stay in Delhi even on weekends from December,1, sources said in Delhi.

This fresh direction from BJP is being speculated as the Central Government led by PM Modi likely to introduce much discussed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill at the floor of the Parliament in the first week of December, sources in BJP said.

Last year the same leadership had stunned the floor of the parliament by a similar surprise on August, 5 by revoking article 370, referring special status to Jammu & Kashmir.

Leadership in BJP has alerted to all Members of the Parliament (MPs) to cancel/postpone public meetings and appointments of their constituency on the weekends from December, 1 and remain in New Delhi amid winter session of the parliament, sources in the party said.

Generally MPs used to attend the parliament session from Monday to Friday and leaves Delhi to attend public meeting in their constituency on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).

Last year BJP had organized two days workshop on weekends i-e August, 3 to 4 to keep engaged all its MPs in Delhi to ensure their attendance in the Parliament. Next day i.e on Monday-August, 5 the Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced to revoke the special status granted under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution to Jammu and Kashmir.

The direction to BJP MPs to remain in Delhi is being looked as a part of strategy in passing new bills at the floor of the parliament to text the voting.

It may be noted that Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday had said that the Government will do amendments in Citizenship Code so that Non-Muslims refugees coming to India-after being exploited from neighboring countries-can get Indian Citizenship.

It is sure that the Union Government is all set to bring Citizenship Amendment Bill this year in the winter session. But more surprising buzz is that the Government is planning to introduce drafted Uniform Civil Code bill so that they could directly put it in the Parliament.

The number game of Bharatiya Janata Party and its alliance partners in NDA in the Rajya Sabha is weak yet the Government had succeed to arrange majority numbers with the favours of some opposition party for Tripal Talak bill and Revocation of Article 370 and splitting of J&K into two new union territories Ladkha and Kargil.

Despite the separation of Shiv Sena from NDA and weak majority in Rajya Sabha, Union Government led by PM Modi is confident this year in the winter session and likely to pass many important bills as similar to last year.
