COVID-19: SDMC seeks Delhi govt’s support to convert its primary school buildings and community halls into isolation centres
The Delhi government will have to ensure proper supply of Oxygen besides other necessary arrangements/facilities.
New Delhi: Amid increasing cases of Coronavirus , the SDMC has said that it is ready to convert its primary school buildings and community halls into isolation centres if the Delhi government provides necessary support.
Education committee chairman Mukesh Suryan said that in order to contain spread of Covid-19, the SDMC is ready to work in association with the Delhi government but the later will have to show its willingness.
Though corporation can start isolation centres but it requires permission from Delhi government and its support in terms of necessary resources from, he said.The Delhi government will have to ensure proper supply of Oxygen besides other necessary arrangements/facilities, Suryan added.
He said that identification of school buildings and community halls where isolation centres can be setup, has been done. All isolation centres will be 30-bedded with other necessary facilities. These centres will be linked with major hospitals/Covid health centres so patients could be referred if condition deteriorates.
