EDMC issues notice to 22 schools,44 residential group housing societies to submit seismic stability report
It would be necessary to submit an audit report within 30 days. Thereafter to make the building retrofitted, if required, under the supervision of a registered structure engineer within six months.He further said that due to non-submission of report on time, strict action will be taken as per rules.
New Delhi: The East Delhi Municipal Corporation EDMC) has issued notices to 22 schools and 44 Residential Group Housing Societies in Shahdara (south zone) as per the instructions given by the Delhi High Court in view of the seismic stability and earthquakes in Delhi.
It has been said that as per the structural security of the building, its structure audit report along with the existing building plan will have to be submitted within 30 days from the date of notice in the EDMC office.
According to a spokesperson of the EDMC informed that the structure audit report would be submitted through the listed structure engineers, whose information is available on the municipal corporation of Delhi website mcdonline.nic.in/eodb/.

Apart from this the EDMC has also initiated the same exercise for buildings constructed before the year 2001.
The Delhi High Court directed the Delhi government and the municipal corporations of Delhi to file a status report regarding seismic stability in their jurisdiction.
