Plastic re-cycling corner inaugurated at EDMC headquarters

Locals  are being told not to throw the plastic as waste but to hand it over to the corporation for recycling.

New Delhi:  The Mayor of east Delhi,  Nirmal Jain,  inaugurated the plastic re-cycling corner at the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC)  headquarters on Wednesday.

This plastic corner has been constructed in collaboration with Bisleri. The purpose of making this plastic corner is to spread awareness among the common people that plastic should not be treated as mere waste but can be re-cycled many times to make useful products.

Among others chairman of the standing committee, Satyapal, leader of house, Pravesh Sharma,  chairman of environment management committee, Bir Singh Panwar and  chief engineer, Pradeep Kumar Khandelwal were  also present on this occasion.

Chief engineer Khandelwal said that the East Delhi Municipal Corporation is running the Bottle for Change programme with the help of Bisleri, under which the plastic and plastic products collected from the area are recycled for preparing decorative and other necessary products.

Therefore, people are being told not to throw the plastic as waste but to hand it over to the corporation for recycling.
