Srinagar : On receipt of specific input received from Jammu Kashmir Police (JKP) regarding presence of vehicle borne terrorists in the vicinity of Manzgam, Kulgam, the Indian Army (IA) and JKP moved with speed to immediately establish a road block in the area at about 5:50 pm on 11 April.

The suspected vehicle was brought to a halt at the road block. On being challenged, the terrorists rushed out of the vehicle towards a nearby house, firing indiscriminately in all directions, injuring two JKP personnel. In the initial firefight, one terrorist was neutralized, while the other entered the nearby house. In the ensuing firefight, the second terrorist was neutralised inside the house, to which he had rushed into. One AK Rifle and other warlike stores have been recovered from the neutralised terrorists.

Imran Khan PRO (Defence) Srinagar said, The injured JKP personnel, one of them in critical condition, were subsequently evacuated to the 92 Base Hospital. As per JKP, the neutralised terrorists were from JeM and have been identified as Jameel Pasha @Usman Chachu, a Pakistani terrorist and Sameer Sofi, a resident of Amshipura, Shopian.
