Editor in Chief and Vice president of Jagran New Media and Vishvasnews.com Rajesh Upadhyay said that Vishvas News conducts Health Fact Check Drive in 5 states in India, makes 1200 fact check champs to fight fake news on Coronavirus.

Mr. Upadhyay stated that the novel coronavirus outbreak has become a menace for many countries. As the Coronavirus has spread across the world, so has the misinformation about it despite an aggressive effort by various health organisations to prevent its dissemination.

With the increase in misinformation about Coronavirus and health-related fake news, Jagran New Media’s Vishvas News waged a war to curb the spread of fake news related to the pandemic. Vishvas News, in association with Facebook, conducted Sach Ke Sathi (Truth Champions) Health Fact Check.

Mr. Upadhya stated that Sach Ke Sathi (Truth Champions) Health Fact Check is a training program to make people aware against health-related fake news making rounds on the internet. This SKS Health Fact Check was launched in Feb last week (Feb 20-29) with the aim of creating awareness among the Indian citizens with low digital literacy rate on misinformation related to Coronavirus, its symptoms, cure and its medicines.

AS per the data we have so far, half of the total number of attendees (Around 600) have further trained 55,000 people in their own social circle in just one months in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.

Vishvas News is in touch with the rest of attendees to keep motivating them and support them to further train their family, friends, relatives and colleagues about the rising issue of COVID related fake news and about the basic fact checking tools.

We are just aiming to reach out to 100,000 people with the help of those 1187 fact champions Vishvas News created during Sach Ke Sathi sessions
