Youth shot dead by friend while making Tik Tok video at Delhi’s Barakhamba Road

Deceased Salman, along with his two friends Sohail and Aamir, had gone to India gate in his Creta car. When they were returning from India Gate and reached near Ranjit Singh Flyover, Sohail, seating on the front seat along with driver Salaman, took out a country made pistol which he was carrying with him and fired upon aiming at Salaman on the pretext of making video on tik tok mobile application.

Making video on a mobile application went wrong when a 19-year-old man was killed after he was allegedly shot at his face in post locality of New Delhi’s Barakhamba Road late night Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Salman, a resident of New Jafrabad area.

Police had received the information from the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital that one Salaman was admitted in the emergency ward after having gunshot injury on his left cheek.

A passerby namely Hazi Imran had admitted him in the hospital at around 11.15 PM on Saturday night where he was declared brought dead.

During investigation, it was revealed that Salman, along with his two friends Sohail, a resident of New Jafrabaad and Aamir, a resident of New Seelampur, had gone to India gate in his Creta car, said a police official.

Police said while they were returning from India Gate and reached near Ranjit Singh Flyover, Sohail, seating on the front seat along with driver Salaman, took out a country made pistol which he was carrying with him and fired upon aiming at Salaman on the pretext of making video on tik tok mobile application.

Aamir was seating on the rear seat of the car when the incident happened, police said.

A case under sections of murder and Arms Act has been registered at Barakhamba Police Station and both the accused persons have been arrested, they said.

The body of the deceased has been preserved in the hospital and the post-mortem will be conducted on Monday. Police said that they are investigating whether the bullet was fired accidentally or the intent to kill the deceased, police said.

According to a relative of Salman, “Two of his friends came last night at his house and asked him to visit Indian Gate along with them following which, Salman took his car and left the house.

On the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, they received the information about the incident from police and reached the hospital”, he said.

Salman’s was the youngest child in his family and he has one elder brother nad sister, he said.

Salman was doing his graduation from distance learning. His father has a business of jacket and jeans in the Jafrabad area and he used to help him in the business, the relative said
